The Dutchman also has interest from Bayern, but has concerns over a move due to the lack of game time for his former teammates.

Ryan Gravenberch, Noussair Mazraoui and Daley Blind made the switch to Bayern from Ajax last season, but none played regularly.

Timber is wary of suffering the same treatment, and prefers to join the Gunners where he could get regular first-team football.

The 22-year-old is likely to provide strong competition to Ben White for the right-back role next term. He could be a regular starter.
