Manchester United make fresh bid to sign Chelsea star

Manchester United have made a fresh proposal to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, according to The Athletic.

The England international has already agreed personal terms with United, and the club are now pushing to land his services.

Earlier today, United made a second offer of £45m plus £5m in add-ons, but the proposal was deemed insufficient by Chelsea.

The Blues are aiming to secure £60m plus £5m in add-ons, but it is anticipated that they will lower their demands.

Chelsea are desperate to balance their books before the end of the month, and they are currently on a huge selling spree.

They have already agreed to offload Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech and Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Pro League clubs.

Kai Havertz is on his way to Arsenal while Mateo Kovacic is set to join Manchester City. Mount is expected to leave too.

Hence, it could be a matter of time before United finalise a deal. Another improved bid could convince the Blues to sell.
