Real Madrid enter race to sign Man Utd's top defensive target
Manchester United have been handed a transfer blow with Real Madrid joining the hunt to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro this summer.
The Red Devils have been monitoring the 18-year-old for the past few months and they have identified him as a replacement for Raphael Varane.
A January deal was not possible due to FFP issues, but United are likely to have funds in the summer. Varane will be released when his deal expires.
Lille have set a price tag of around €60m and it is claimed that Madrid are looking to outwit United with an early approach for the teenager.
As per Marca, Los Blancos believe Yoro is perfect for their long-term project and they are prepared to lure him at the earliest possibility.
Yoro has yet to decide on his future, but it is claimed that he could give preference to a move to Carlo Ancelotti's side later this year.
The news will come as a big blow for United. They could miss out on a superb talent. It may be hard to beat Madrid to his services.
