Queiroz coy on Portugal job
Manchester United manager Carlos Queiroz has decided to issue a "no comment" statement on the current rumours floating in the European press that he would become the new coach of the Portuguese national side.
It has been reported widely in Portugal that the former Real Madrid head coach would take over from Luiz Felipe Scolari who has now left to manage the Premiership side Chelsea. Queiroz is currently the assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
Queiroz was coy on the links to the Portugal job and said:
"it gives me great pleasure that my name is linked.
âHave I been asked? I will make no comment.
âI will not talk about this now as I am on holiday.â
