Arsenal to up Jagielka offer

24 July 2011 - 06:40

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will test Everton's resolve this week, as they look to prize star defender Phil Jagielka away from Goodison Park. A report indicates that Arsenal will lodge a £12.5m offer for the centre back.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Last week, the Gunners had admitted that an offer was made for Phil Jagielka, this was confirmed to be in the £10m region.

However, Everton were quick to reject that initial bid and slapped a £20m price tag on the England international.

Now it seems that the Gunners will make a second offer to David Moyes, this time at £10m up front and £2.5m dependent on appearances.

However, with the £20m pricetag it is believed the Toffees will immediately reject the offer.
