Gill open to Man Utd transfers

Gill open to Man Utd transfers

01 August 2011 - 08:57

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has revealed that he plans to sit down with Sir Alex Ferguson shortly to discuss summer transfer spending at Old Trafford.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Despite bringing in David de Gea, Phil Jones and Ashley Young already; it seems that Gill is already open to bringing in more new players to the club.

The next on the list could well be Samir Nasri, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few weeks.

Nasri has grown frustrated with lack of development in contract talks at his current club Arsenal, and is now ready to pursue a move elsewhere.

David Gill has admitted that a player must be of a certain calibre in order to guarantee a place in the United first team: "When we get back from tour, we will be in the office and we will sit down and assess it with Sir Alex and his coaches.

"I don't want to talk about specifics, but it's clear to say that in order to get into the United team you have to be a top-class player."
