The father and agent of Valencia midfielder Juan Mata has revealed that Arsenal's opening offer for the Spain international has been rejected by the club. Arsene Wenger is reportedly lining up Mata as a replacement for Samir Nasri.
Nasri is expected to leave the club this year after failing to agree terms on a new contract at the Emirates.
"Valencia simply rejected their offer. After some hesitation they answered ânoâ to the Gunnersâ offer. So my son remains a Valencia player for now. But I donât think itâs their last offer," said Mata's father.
