Arsenal sign Joel Campbell

Arsenal have agreed a 1m GBP fee with Deportivo Saprissa for their star striker Joel Campbell. The Costa Rica international will link up with his team mates for the first time on Tuesday afternoon.

The Gunners had been chasing the forward for some time, and have decided that Campbell is the best replacement for Nicklas Bendtner, who is set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.



"[He] has shown that he is a player with great ability, and has performed well on the international stage at a young age," said manager Arsene Wenger.



"We look forward to the formalities of the transfer being completed and working with Joel when he joins us at Arsenal."
