Arsenal have made an enormous 16.5m GBP offer for Bolton defender Gary Cahill. The Gunners have been scouring the market for a top class centre back, and Cahill and Phil Jagielka are their preferred options.

It is understood that Cahill might be the favorite to arrive at the Emirates, as Arsene Wenger already enjoys a good relationship with Bolton boss Owen Coyle.



However, it is understood that Cahill is not sure about the interest from Arsenal as he is pining for a move to Liverpool.



Bolton star Cahill was one of the stars of the first day of the Premiership, scoring a cracker from 25 yards against QPR.
