Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's desperate hunt for new midfielders to replace Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri has another new name on the shortlist; Matias Fernandez of Sporting Lisbon.
According to reports, Sporting are prepared to let their Chilean international midfielder leave if a fee in the region of 12m GBP is matched. Fernandez has a 16m release clause in Lisbon.
Arsenal are expected to table their offer on Monday morning.
