Giovanni Bia, the agent of Federico Macheda, has admitted that Newcastle are also an option for his client. The Man Utd striker is expected to leave on loan before the football transfer window closes on Wednesday evening.
Macheda still has a future at Man Utd, but Sir Alex Ferguson has told the Italian to leave to garner more experience at another Premier League club.
"Macheda doesn't return to Italy, Manchester United will send him on loan in the Premier League," Bia told calciomercato.com.
"At this time Newcastle has the edge over Queens Park Rangers."
