Ajax boss Frank de Boer has admitted star defender Jan Vertonghen could leave the Eredivisie champions when the transfer window reopens in January.
Arsenal had been linked with the Belgian defender but signed Per Mertesacker instead, whilst Inter Milan also have a long standing interest in the centre back.
"Vertonghen declined an offer from Valencia", confirmed De Boer, "and would leave only for an important club that plays in the Champions League.
"Thereâs been talk about Inter in January last year, and if they agreed to pay the fee we have set him at then there is not much we can do."
