Capello warns Lampard over form

Fabio Capello has warned Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard that his place is under threat should he not recover the form that made him one of the best midfielder's in the Premier League.

Friday's game with Bulgaria was the first time in over nine years that neither Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard played in the first XI.



Lampard had been resigned to the bench after Capello chose the future ahead of the 33 year old.



"It is the start of the season and he [Lampard] needs to play more games," said the Italian boss.



"Frank is part of this squad. He is a professional and when he came on he was really focussed and did well."
