According to a report in Il Milanista, AC Milan are looking at Barcelona defender Maxwell and Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira as possible targets for the January transfer window.
Last January, Milan made a significant investment and brought in Mark van Bommel and Antonio Cassano to help them challenge for the Scudetto.
They have got off to a slow start in the 2011-12 campaign and will be looking to strengthen their squad as soon as possible.
Maxwell has had a torrid time in Barcelona, and has slipped down the pecking order after a number of injuries.
Khedira, on the other hand, has faced stiff criticism from both media and coach Jose Mourinho after his sending off against Levante earlier this season. He also faces heavy competition with Xabi Alonso, Lassana Diarra and Nuri Sahin fighting for a place in the starting XI.
Il Milanista claim that Milan will make a â¬10 million bid in January, but this move may be hijacked by Manchester City.
