Barcelona after Thiago Silva

Barcelona after Thiago Silva

09 October 2011 - 14:50

AC Milan defender Thiago Silva is on Barcelona's radar for a potential move next summer, according to a report by Mundo Deportivo.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Barcelona have been following Silva for some time now and will now test Milan's resolve with a bid in the summer of 2012.

Silva has been a star performer for Milan in the last two seasons and was vital in their winning the 2010-11 Scudetto.

It is claimed that Barcelona did not make a move for Silva this year as they had no money to spare, with their 2011 transfer kitty being spent in acquiring the services of Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez.

If Barcelona's bid is accepted, Silva will be a direct replacement for ageing captain Carles Puyol, who turns 34 in April.
