Dortmund reject Goetze to Real move talk

12 October 2011 - 05:53

Borussia Dortmund have moved swiftly to reject talk of a move to Real Madrid for whizzkid midfielder Mario Goetze. The Germany international is one of the hottest prospects in European football and has been linked with a move to several top European clubs.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • But Borussia Dortmund remain stubborn in their attempts to keep Goetze at the club.

Talk of a 32m GBP move for Goetze to Arsenal last summer seemed to dominate the back pages at times, but in the end the German decided to stay at Dortmund.

Talk of a move to Real Madrid has seemingly concerned Dortmund, and they this morning released a statement showing their intent to keep the talented midfielder.

"Firstly, there is no offer from Real Madrid", said Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke to Die Welt.

"Second, it is clear that the departure of Mario is non-negotiable.

"In this regard, any possibility is a false debate."
