29 October 2011 - 16:27

Norwich scored a late equaliser in injury time to break Blackburn hearts to wrap a thrilling match that finished 3-3. Five goals came in a fantastic 2nd half and the hosts scored two late goals to rescue a point.

  • Prior to the game, Steve Kean knew that defeat could spell the end to his managerial career at Blackburn; but his team would be in high spirits after victory in the Carling Cup during midweek.

The first half proved to be a drab affair, and an injury time opener from Junior Hoilett got the ball rolling for Rovers.

After the interval, Steve Morison would level on 53 minutes with a nice finish. Leon Barnett met the ball and tucked the ball in for Morison to rifle the ball home for the leveler.

Blackburn appeared to wrap up the points with goals from Christopher Samba and Yakubu.

Yakubu used all of his power to cut through the Norwich defence and rifle the ball home to have the away fans rocking.

Chris Samba threw his body to nod past John Ruddy and Blackburn looked to have the finish line within sight.

However, there would be a twist in this tale.

On 82 minutes Bradley Johnson reduced the deficit and Norwich were refusing to lie down in this match.

Then a controversial decision saw an injury time leveler from Grant Holt. Referee Anthony Taylor gave a strange looking penalty as Steven Nzonzi handballed in the area.

Steve Kean looked furious at full time and the pressure continues to mount at Ewood Park.
