United monitoring Kevin de Bruyne

United monitoring Kevin de Bruyne

30 October 2011 - 00:01

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly interested in the Genk midfielder despite reports in the media saying that a deal with Chelsea is on the cards.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • de Bruyne operates as a creative midfielder, somewhat in the mould of Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas or Sochaux's Marvin Martin.

It is believed that Ferguson is looking for exactly that kind of a player to fill in the boots of the recently retired Paul Scholes.

The player is valued at around £15 million and has attracted heavy interest from Chelsea, who apparently had a bid for him rejected in the summer.

Ferguson is reportedly now ready to hijack any bid from Chelsea and will move for the Genk youngster in summer as he would be cup-tied in January.
