Tottenham unlikely to sign Tevez

Tottenham unlikely to sign Tevez

31 October 2011 - 06:27

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is unlikely to make a move for wantaway Man City striker Carlos Tevez. The 200,000 GBP per week salary means Spurs would be unlikely to afford a move for the player.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • Tevez has been embroiled in controversy after refusing to come off of the bench for Manchester City against Bayern Munich, and has been suspended from action until further notice.

But that hasn't stopped the likes of Harry Redknapp from showing an interest in the Argentine.

"Would I like him? Yes. Anyone would like him. He is a fantastic player," Redknapp said.

"He is an amazing player. When he plays no one gives more than he does. He works his socks off, he runs, he chases, he plays, he tackles and he scores goals.

"He is the full package when he plays so I don't think there are too many teams who wouldn't like him.

"Affording him is a different matter. That's the problem. We couldn't afford him really."
