Vidic happy to be back in action

Vidic happy to be back in action

01 November 2011 - 14:17

Ahead of Man Utd's Champions League game with Otelul Galati, Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic is fighting fit and ready to return to the first team. Vidic is looking forward to linking up with his team mates come Wednesday.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Vidic had been out of action for eight weeks with a calf injury, but Sir Alex Ferguson can finally call upon his experienced centre back.

"I have never been out so long," said Vidic. "It was eight weeks and it was a difficult time. I was desperate to be there but at least we did well, so I didn't have that much pressure to come back and play.

"That helped me. Now I feel well. I don't feel any pain, which is the most important thing. I can move on, try to reach my top form game by game and help the team reach our goals."
