Alan Pardew wants Newcastle defender Danny Simpson to agree terms on a new contract as soon as possible, or the 24 year old may have to be sold in the January transfer window.
Pardew wants to tie Simpson to a new contract so that he does not lose the talented full back for free, but so far Simpson has stalled on a new contract.
“My personal preference is for Danny Simpson to sign quickly, because he has got a lot of competition in that area. If we can’t reach agreement, he’ll have to move on – it’s as simple as that," said Pardew.
Simpson and his agent have reportedly been locked in discussions with Newcastle for several months, but have been unable to agree terms yet.
