Tottenham might make Anelka move

Tottenham might make Anelka move

30 November 2011 - 09:59

Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is an interesting prospect for Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, but Spurs have yet to make an official offer for the 32-year-old.

  • Chelsea transfer update on Maxence Lacroix
  • England star to join Chelsea in two-year deal
  • French striker Anelka has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent months alongside strike partner Didier Drogba, who is also expected to quit London.

However, despite lavishing praise on the former Bolton, Arsenal and Liverpool striker; Redknapp has yet to make an official approach.

"I have always liked him!" Redknapp said.

"I think he is a fantastic goalscorer but he is not a player who I have made any enquiries about or mentioned to the chairman.

"Having said that, I wouldn't stand here and say, 'No. Never', because if I did sign him you would say, 'What a lying git'. It's not a bad shout. He's a good player."
