05 December 2011 - 13:21

South American giants Boca Juniors and Corinthians both won their respective domestic league titles on Sunday afternoon. The Argentine giants Boca claimed a 3-0 victory over Banfield to lift the trophy, whilst Corinthians earned the point they needed to lift the Campeonato.

  • Chelsea set to suffer Pedro Neto transfer blow
  • Napoli surprised by Chelsea price for striker
  • It was a very emotional occasion in Brazil as Corinthians mourned the loss of club legend Socrates, who died aged 57 earlier on in the day. A draw would be enough to win the title for the Brazilian side, who took on fierce rivals Palmerias.

Meanwhile, in Argentina, Boca Juniors thumped Banfield 3-0 with two goals from Dario Cvitanich and another from Diego Rivero. With two games left, Boca are now 11 points clear.
