Spurs chief insists Redknapp not keen on England

Spurs chief insists Redknapp not keen on England

13 December 2011 - 21:46

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy thinks that Harry Redknapp feels flattered to have been linked with the England job that will become available once Fabio Capello steps down after Euro 2012, but remains focused on his Spurs job for now.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Levy insists Redknapp will be staying put for the next 18 months, and will not speak to the FA this summer.

"Harry has 18 months left on his contract. We have had a conversation that says as far as Harry is concerned, he is very happy here and that he doesn't particularly want to consider England at the present time. We will worry about that situation if it arises in the summer," said Levy.

"I hope we have a great season and that we can finish in the top four or, who knows, maybe even higher. We want first. I spoke to Harry and told him not to be too despondent, because if we win our game in hand against Everton, we could be only four points behind Manchester City."
