Bendtner involved in pizza fracas

14 December 2011 - 09:45

Sunderland's on loan striker Nicklas Bendtner was involved in an angry argument at a pizza joint in Copenhagen, claiming he had enough money to buy the pizzeria when his credit card refused to work.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Bendtner is currently on loan from Arsenal, where he spent 7 years. He initially got a lot of playing time after his move from the reserves to the first team, but as years went by, the number of chances Arsene Wenger offered him reduced.

He has been known to be an arrogant personality, and he made a full display of that when Pizza Huset refused to give him his pizzas for free.

An eyewitness said: "He was f#percent$&@! arrogant and brought forward, as if he owned it all. All the people just stood and looked at each other and shook their heads over the way he behaved.”

A staff member at Pizza Huset also confimed the strikers immature behaviour.

He said: "He (Bendtner) played really stupid. When he could not pay, he demanded to get free pizza and said: ‘Don’t you know who I am? I can buy the whole pizzeria.’

“No, we told him that it did not matter who he was. If he could not pay, there was no pizza.”

After some wrangling with the restaurant staff, two girls stepped up and offered to pay his bill, after which he left in a taxi.

In a time where Mario Balotelli's antics are being heavily publicized, it will be interesting to see whether Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill chooses to take action against the Danish international or not.
