Ferguson warns Paul Pogba over new deal

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has encouraged Paul Pogba to sign a new deal at Old Trafford, in the face of interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man City.

  • Man Utd star wants only Chelsea after rejecting Bayern offer

  • Pogba's deal at Man Utd is soon coming to an end, and Ferguson has warned Pogba that his career could nosedive should he leave United. Ferguson appeared to hit out at Pogba's agent, who has been trying to secure the youngster a move away.

Sir Alex said: “He has got an agent who’s obviously become a bit difficult, but we’re negotiating with this agent and we want the boy to stay. If he doesn’t want to stay, then there’s not a lot you can do about it.

“We have an option on his contract that takes us into a year-and-a-half away, so in that respect there’s not a great emergency about it. But we’d like the boy to sign a contract."
