Terry ruled out for England

16 October 2007 - 21:35

England captain John Terry has all but been ruled out of Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Russia, only hours after being passed fit to play. The player locked his knee while training for England's crunch Euro 2008 tie.

  • Man Utd without four players for Bournemouth clash
  • Liam Rosenior on Enzo Fernandez's Chelsea future
  • McLaren said: "John Terry is almost certainly ruled out of Wednesday's match. His knee locked towards the end of training and he could not complete the session."

He added: "His knee locked towards the end of training and he could not complete the session."

John Terry will now seriously think about an operation which he has been putting off as England worry about their qualification campaign.

John Terry was replaced successfully against Estonia by Sol Campbell, who is expected to step up once again for the Chelsea skipper against Russia.
