Arsenal chasing Taye Taiwo

Arsenal chasing Taye Taiwo

02 January 2012 - 06:15

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted yesterday that fresh injury worries for makeshift left back Thomas Vermaelen would mean that the Gunners are to investigate a defensive loan signing, and Nigerian left back Taye Taiwo is the latest name linked with a move to the Emirates.

  • Chelsea transfer update on Maxence Lacroix
  • England star to join Chelsea in two-year deal
  • Man City defender Wayne Bridge has also been linked with a move to London; but Arsene Wenger is a fan of AC Milan defender Taiwo and is hoping to bring the defender in on a one month loan deal.

Arsenal are currently without four first choice full backs, as Carl Jenkinson, Andre Santos, Kieron Gibbs and Bacary Sagna all remain sidelined with injury. Taye Taiwo had been linked with a permanent move away from AC Milan only last month, frustrated with life on the bench at the San Siro.

A move to Arsenal would appeal to all parties involved, and discussions are expected to commence this week.
