Spurs latest club in for James Tomkins

Tottenham are the newest club to have been linked with highly rated centre back James Tomkins, and are now preparing a 3.25m GBP offer for the West Ham defender.

Newcastle have already had two offers rejected by the Hammers, believed to be around 1.5m and 2.5m GBP. Spurs are expected to offer close to another million to land the player.<br />

According to reports, Tomkins wants to leave Upton Park in the January transfer window and has instructed his representatives to help him find a Premier League switch.<br />

The 22 year old is being lined up to replace Sebastien Bassong - who is expected to leave White Hart Lane this month - and also William Gallas who sustained a torn calf in the game against West Brom last night.
