Sunderland and Scotland keeper Craig Gordon has laughed off Fabio Grosso's suggestions that they lack the edge to complete successful qualification for Euro 2008. Scotland's final game sees them take on Italy in the qualification race.
Keeper Gordon is refusing to be drawn into a spat ahead of the Hampden Park game, instead the young Sunderland keeper remains calm and relaxed as he brushed off such âgamesâ from Grosso,
"That kind of stuff is par for the course - it's always going to happen," noted Gordon.
"It makes no difference who said what. Of course there is always going to be pressure at this stage of the campaign but it is the kind you want to be involved in.
"We are relishing it and we are happy to see other teams resorting to those kind of tactics.
"I know that we have the character for these very difficult games and that we have no reason to fear the last two qualifiers."
