Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has no plans to replace Chelsea and England captain John Terry, instead he hopes to forge a successful partnership with his England team mate. Cahill arrived at Stamford Bridge from Bolton for around 8 million GBP last week.
The 26-year-old has been earmarked as a potential replacement for John Terry, when the centre back decides to retire from football. But Cahill is just happy to be considered as a partner for the defender.
"They're massive shoes to fill. I wouldn't look at it as filling his boots," Cahill said. "If I could go on to have half the career he's had, I'd be happy.
"He's been fantastic for club and country. There's no reason why I can't have a fantastic career, if I take my opportunity with Chelsea and continue performing for England.
"But that will be down to me and my performances. If I don't achieve that, there will be no-one to blame but myself."
