27 January 2012 - 06:57

Everton will this weekend complete a move for AEK Athens defender Kostas Manolas. The 20 year old defender has been tipped for a move to the Premier League after impressing in the Greek Super League.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • The Toffees have been tracking Manolas for over six months, and will now use the cash received from the sale of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to complete a move for the defender.

The AEK Athens player has recently enjoyed a call up to the Greek international side, and is expected to be a regular internationally in the coming years.

“He’s a young boy we have looked at for a while, and we know quite a lot about him,” said Moyes.

“We could do with a centre back, although ideally someone who could go straight into the team, and he couldn’t at the moment. But he’s got potential, his representatives have been in, and we have spoken to the club.”
