Sunderland today moved a step closer to agreeing a fee with Bolton for the signing of veteran striker Kevin Davies. The burly forward will sign a six month contract at the Stadium of Light, where he is expected to fill in for injured Nicklas Bendtner.
Bolton have so far rejected all approaches for Davies, but the striker is keen to continue playing Premier League football and has reportedly jumped at the opportunity of a move to the Black Cats.
"I did make an enquiry and Owen would obviously want to try to keep him," O'Neill said. "I may well follow that up tomorrow (Monday) morning."
