Heitinga warns Tottenham off David Moyes

Heitinga warns Tottenham off David Moyes

11 February 2012 - 14:24

Everton defender Johnny Heitinga has warned Tottenham that they cannot expect an easy ride in their pursuit of David Moyes. Moyes has been linked as a potential replacement for Harry Redknapp should the latter take the vacant England job.

  • Heitinga insists that Moyes is the perfect man to lead Everton, and laughed off talk of a move away for the Scotsman.

"It is all rumors and you need to wait to see what will happen. It's not up to me," Heitinga said. "But the manager has been here for 10 years and, in my eyes, he is the right person for this club. He is the right man for Everton.

"In the past, Everton were fighting to stay in the league; a few years later they were playing in the FA Cup Final and fighting for a Champions League place.

"Moyes is the right man for us. What he has done is unbelievable."
