Arteta confident Arsenal will keep RvP

01 March 2012 - 08:58

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta told reporters that he thinks the club will keep Robin van Persie despite the player's current contract at the club expiring in the summer of 2013. Arteta insisted that RvP is happy at the club and that talks will take place with Arsenal shortly.

  • Arteta ruled out a move for his Dutch colleague leaving the Emirates this summer.

"I do not see Van Persie leaving Arsenal," Arteta told COM Radio. "He is completely unaffected by interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona and not thinking about his contract renewal either.

"Now he is very calm and is not nervous about anything. I know he has said that in the summer he will consider things, talk it over and take the decision that he will take."
