Krul and Coloccini pen new Newcastle deals

03 March 2012 - 13:53

Newcastle have wrapped up long-term deals for star duo Fabricio Coloccini and Tim Krul, as announced today in a press conference with manager Alan Pardew. Coloccini's contract had entered the last 18 months whilst Tim Krul has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United.

  • Arguably two of Newcastle's best players this year include Krul and Coloccini, and signing the duo to a new deal will be a massive boost for Pardew.

"As far as I'm concerned and the players and staff it's a huge boost before tomorrow's game and I hope our fans will continue today with a nice smile on their face and we continue that through Sunday evening," said Pardew.

"Sometimes the most important players are the players you have already, and these guys sitting next to me have both got the chance of player of the year at this football club. They've been absolutely terrific and deserve their new contracts."
