Hodgson flattered by England link

Hodgson flattered by England link

11 March 2012 - 13:19

West Brom manager Roy Hodgson admitted that he is flattered to have been linked with a move into the vacant England hotseat. The FA is on the look out for a coach to take over from Fabio Capello, who stepped down last February.

  • Chelsea set to sign Crystal Palace star for £47m
  • Man Utd aiming to beat Liverpool to 25yo midfielder
  • Hodgson is amongst the front runners to succeed the Italian, and the Baggies' coach admitted that he is delighted to have been linked with the role.

Hodgson said: “I don't think any job is impossible. England have won a major tournament – only one, but they've still won one – and we are working in a league where football of a very high quality is played and we are producing players who most people would regard as top European standard. So, impossible, no.

“I am flattered to be considered.”
