Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is hoping to put pen to paper on a fresh contract extension at Anfield. Suarez signed a five and a half year contract with Liverpool when he joined from Ajax in January 2011.
Suarez has endured a mixed start to life in the Premier League, with high profile accusations of racial abuse against Man Utd defender Patrice Evra and at times the striker has shown flashes of brilliance.
But the striker hopes to prove his value at Anfield and is willing to pen a new contract at the club.
"I would like to stay. Despite everything that happened, I'm happy here, on and off the pitch, and at the club they're happy with me and want me to stay," Suarez said.
"I have a contract until 2016 and they already want to renew it for me. The coach still believes in me and that's very important, especially after having been out for eight matches."
