Queens Park Rangers' midfielder Joey Barton is angry that the club's fans hurled abuse at the midfielder during yesterday's 3-2 win over Liverpool in the Premier League. Barton had a poor game and was substituted by Mark Hughes midway through the second half.

  • With QPR trailing 2-0, Barton was hauled off by Mark Hughes and then Rangers completed a shock comeback to win 3-2.

Barton suffered abuse from his own fans during the game, and the midfielder quipped: "Form is temporary, class is permanent. I was awful tonight. Worst I've ever played in my career.

"Disappointed with fans booing, we're meant to be in it together. They won't break me, guaranteed. I've been through much worse."
