Pardew: Newcastle stars will come at a price

24 March 2012 - 07:22

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has warned off any potential suitors for his stars Tim Krul, Cheikh Tiote and Demba Ba, and hinted that a huge price would have to be paid for any of his big players.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Chelsea have been linked with a move for Cheikh Tiote, Man Utd for Demba Ba whilst Tottenham could turn to Tim Krul as a long term replacement for Brad Freidel.

But Newcastle's outspoken manager ruled out any of his players being sold "on the cheap".

"All of our best players are on long-term contracts, so I would be very, very surprised at them being linked with other clubs," Pardew told reporters.

"I think anyone who looks at this football club will know we are difficult sellers.

"Someone is going to have to pay a lot of money to take one of our players away - especially considering where we are right now, and are having success."
