Sir Alex insists team spirit drives on Man Utd

After yesterday's 2-0 victory over strugglers Queens Park Rangers, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson praised the team spirit that has helped his side close in on a fifth Premier League title in six years.

  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • "The unity and spirit you get when players stay together is now coming through," said the Scot.

United won 2-0 thanks to goals from Paul Scholes and a Wayne Rooney penalty yesterday, but admitted that an early sending off for Shaun Derry may have seen his United side take the foot off the pedal.

"I was a little bit disappointed after their man was sent off because it put us in the comfort zone," he said.

"We were too casual after that up to half-time."
