Arsene Wenger teases Man City

09 April 2012 - 07:32

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has teased Manchester City after the Citizens slumped to a 1-0 defeat to the Gunners courtesy of a Mikel Arteta goal. Wenger told reporters that City would probably now try to sign even more of his players.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • In recent years, City have signed Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Kolo Toure from Arsenal, and are now expected to make a move for Robin van Persie in the summer.

"You can take that both ways. Maybe they'll now want some others," said Wenger after the game."

But Wenger thinks the title race is still open and City still have a chance to win: "They cannot afford to drop any points now. Once the team 'smelt the stable', it's difficult for them to drop points.

"In French, you say when a horse smells its stable, it's difficult to stop them."
