Match Preview: Spurs v Chelsea

In a few hours the FA Cup semi-final between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will kick-off at the Wembley Stadium. The two London teams are meeting in the semi-final of the FA Cup for the first time.

  • Chelsea will start without the services of right back Branislav Ivanovic due to a three-game ban for his punch on Wigan Atletic's Shaun Maloney. Ashley Cole is doubtful because of the ankle injury, however, John Terry is back to the first team after recovering from a rib injury. Di Matteo is likely to start with Jose Bosingwa at his natural right back position.



    Tottenham has injury woes and will miss Dawson and Younes Kaboul at the centre back. Ledley King is doubtful as he is not fully recovered from the knee problem. This will leave the Spurs boss to pick from veterans Ryan Nelsen and William Gallas.



    Facts and Figures

    Three of the last four games played between Spurs and Chelsea have ended in draws. In the FA Cup, Spurs had won two of the four times these teams met. Recently, Chelsea had won the FA cup match against Spurs in 2007.



    The last time these two teams met at Wembley in the Carling Cup final, 2008. Spurs won the game thanks to the extra time goal from Woodgate even though Chelsea took the lead through Didier Drogba.
