van Persie out for 4-6 weeks

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Robin van Persie has not damaged his cruciate ligament, and will not be out for as long as feared. There will be no doubt that the expected 4-6 week absence will be a huge blow for the Gunners, however.

"His injury is a medial knee ligament," said Wenger at Monday’s press conference.



"At one stage we were scared it was a cruciate but we had good news and the scan was positive. But it is still a long injury."



The Gunners take on Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday at Emirates Stadium.
