Arsenal monitor Nathaniel Clyne

08 January 2013 - 01:32

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been closely tracking the progress of Southampton youngster Nathaniel Clyne. The 21-year-old defender only moved to St. Mary's last summer but is already attracting the interest of bigger clubs.

  • Crystal Palace sold Clyne to Southampton last summer and the defender has since become a first team regular at the club. The defender, born in Stockwell, could already be sold to accommodate new purchases for the January transfer window.

Arsene Wenger has already forged a close relationship with Southampton over the years, as he brought in the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott from the Southern club. The Frenchman would use his connections to thrash out a deal for the England under-21 international.
