Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been undergoing a medical at Liverpool's training ground Melwood this afternoon. The Brazilian central midfielder is set to become the newest arrival at Anfield.

The Brazilian is expected to put pen to paper on a five year contract and will be thrust straight into the first team this coming weekend. It is expected that the player will have no issue securing a work permit.<br />

Inter Milan last week revealed that an offer had been made for Coutinho, and Liverpool were then later confirmed as favourites for his signature.<br />

&pound;8.4 million is the figure that Brendan Rodgers' side are expected to pay. Coutinho will become Liverpool's second signing of the January transfer window.
