Arsenal's efforts to sign David Villa will not come to fruition, after Barcelona ruled out selling one of their prized assets. The Gunners wanted to bring the Spaniard to the club on loan until the end of the year.
Arsenal were linked with the former Valencia man for several weeks, but the player has decided to stay at the Nou Camp for the remainder of the season. Villa's wife just gave birth to his third child, a factor in him deciding against a move abroad.<br />
Arsenal are now believed to be happy with their current crop of strikers, with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud seemingly hitting top form.
