Moyes concerns over Everton fatigue

Moyes' concerns over Everton fatigue

11 February 2013 - 12:11

David Moyes thinks that fatigue could catch his Everton side in their pursuit of Champions League football. A 2-0 defeat against Man Utd on Sunday has slowed down the Toffees' charge for CL qualification.

  • Chelsea set to sign Crystal Palace star for £47m
  • Man Utd aiming to beat Liverpool to 25yo midfielder
  • In the game at the weeknd the Everton side looked to be lacking an extra edge that has so far helped them up the league table this year.

Moyes has been quick to admit he is worried that fatigue could cost him this year: "You could see tiredness in people like Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar, who we rely on heavily. We're asking people like Leighton Baines to put in a big shift, to do it for us week in, week out.

"I've always said maybe it's because the numbers that we've got only allow us to have maybe a good half season, not a full one, because we're asking a small number of players to do that for a full season.

"I hope I'm wrong, because we tend to finish the second half of seasons very strongly. We've had a really good opening half of the season, and we've got to hope we can do it again."
