Liverpool have officially ruled out a transfer away from Anfield for Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez in the summer transfer window. Manchester City were amongst the teams vying for the Premier League top scorer.
Suarez has been in sensational form this year, despite a very mixed start to life at the Reds. He's now producing the regular form that makes him one of the most feared strikers on the planet.
So, Managing Director of the club, Ian Ayre, has moved swiftly to rule out a departure for the player: "To play at the highest level in the Premier League and European soccer, you need players like Luis and Steven Gerrard on your team. So the last thing in our mind is selling Luis Suarez. He's not for sale. It's not something we're interested in."
