Pellegrini set to take Man City role

22 May 2013 - 13:44

Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that he expects to stand down from his current job at the end of the week. The Chilean manager is set to become Man City's new boss.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • Pellegrini has long been linked as the favourite to take over from Roberto Mancini, who was fired shortly after the surprise defeat to Wigan in the FA Cup.
The Chilean is considered one of the best coaches in Europe and has suggested that a move to City is imminent.
"Professionally, I am living my final hours in Malaga," Pellegrini said. "On Sunday I will take charge of my last game as Malaga coach at La Rosaleda. It will be very emotional, and we expect to leave the club qualified for Europe, with the mission completed and with the misfortune that the project changed."
